Iran Says U.S. Reply to 14-Point Proposal Received via Pakistan, Under Review

Iran has confirmed that it has received the United States’ response to its 14-point proposal through Pakistan and is currently examining it, according to Iranian state media reports released on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that there are currently no active nuclear negotiations taking place between Tehran and Washington, as reported by state media outlets.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that former U.S. President Donald Trump is confronted with two options: either engage in what it described as an “unwinnable war” or accept what it called an unfavorable agreement with Iran.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the IRGC intelligence division claimed that Tehran had issued a deadline to the U.S. military regarding the lifting of restrictions on Iranian ports. It also suggested that countries including China, Russia, and several European states were becoming increasingly critical of Washington’s policies.

The statement added that, in their view, the situation leaves Washington with limited room for decision-making, framing the choice as either military escalation or diplomatic compromise.

Donald Trump said on Saturday that he had been informed in general terms about a proposed agreement with Iran but was still awaiting the detailed wording before making a judgment.

He also warned that military action could still be considered if Iran failed to comply with expectations.

Speaking separately, Trump said he had not yet accepted the idea of the deal, arguing that Iran had not faced sufficient consequences for its actions. However, he also suggested he would prefer to avoid military escalation if possible, while not ruling it out entirely.

Trump also made controversial remarks comparing U.S. naval actions to piracy while discussing the seizure of a vessel during recent operations in the region. He stated that American forces had taken control of ships, cargo, and oil shipments as part of enforcement measures.

His comments come amid heightened tensions over maritime activity linked to Iranian ports.

A senior Iranian military spokesperson said the possibility of renewed confrontation with the United States cannot be ruled out, especially after rejection of Tehran’s latest diplomatic proposal.

He criticized U.S. commitments, stating that past behavior shows Washington does not consistently honor agreements. He also warned that Iran has prepared measures that could surprise its adversaries.

Iranian media reaffirmed that the country maintains firm control over maritime routes in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy.

Officials described the waterway as strategically vital for Iran’s economy and regional influence, emphasizing continued security control over the area.
