Opposition Parliamentary Party Meeting in National Assembly: Strong Criticism of Government Policies, Joint Political Strategy Discussed

An important meeting of the opposition parliamentary parties was held in the National Assembly, where detailed discussions took place on the country’s political situation, parliamentary affairs, and a joint future strategy.

The meeting was chaired by Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and attended by various opposition leaders including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Chief Whip Malik Amir Dogar, along with other parliamentary members and representatives of political parties.

The participants expressed deep concern over rising inflation, recent increases in petroleum prices, and the economic hardships faced by ordinary citizens. According to the opposition parliamentary party’s statement, the government’s economic policies were strongly criticized, with the view that current policies are continuously increasing public difficulties. It was emphasized that the government should immediately take measures to provide relief to the public.

The meeting also discussed in detail the wheat crisis, problems faced by farmers, and the overall situation of the agricultural sector. Participants said that due to poor government policies, the agricultural economy is being affected, which may lead to food security issues. The opposition stated that the government’s current strategy has damaged not only the agricultural sector but the overall economy, and urgent reforms are needed.

Issues related to political prisoners and particularly the former Prime Minister were also discussed. Participants said that the political struggle will continue through Parliament and legal means.

Furthermore, prayers were offered for the martyrs of Bannu, and special prayers were also made for Maulana Muhammad Idrees.
