In the desert area of Nagarparkar and surrounding regions of Tharparkar, severe heat and water scarcity have posed serious threats to wildlife, with 13 peacocks reported dead in just two days.
According to the Assistant Conservator of the Wildlife Department, initial investigations suggest that the deaths were not caused by any infectious disease, but rather by extreme heat and heatstroke. He stated that unusually high temperatures and a shortage of water have severely affected local wildlife.
Temperatures in Nagarparkar and nearby villages have been recorded significantly above normal, affecting not only humans but also animals and birds.

The Assistant Conservator said that multivitamins and special nutritional supplements are being provided to sick and weak peacocks to improve their immunity so they can better withstand the extreme heat.
Experts at the regional level have stressed the need to establish permanent water reservoirs and launch special wildlife conservation projects to prevent such incidents in the future.
