Apple to Pay iPhone Users Up to $95 Per Device in Siri and AI Lawsuit Settlement

Millions of iPhone users in the United States may be eligible to receive payments ranging from $25 to $95 per device after Apple agreed to settle a $250 million class-action lawsuit connected to its Apple Intelligence and Siri features.

The lawsuit claimed that Apple exaggerated the capabilities of Siri and Apple Intelligence in its marketing campaigns during 2024 and 2025. While Apple agreed to the settlement, the company did not admit any wrongdoing.

As part of the proposed settlement, qualifying customers will receive a standard payment of $25 for each eligible iPhone. The final amount could rise to as much as $95 per device depending on the total number of claims submitted and other settlement factors.

Customers who purchased more than one eligible iPhone, including devices under family plans, may be able to claim compensation for each qualifying device.

According to the settlement filed on May 5, U.S. customers who bought any of the following iPhone models between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, may qualify for payment: iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The case centred on Apple’s promotion of a more advanced AI-powered Siri during the 2024 launch of the iPhone 16 series. Plaintiffs argued that Apple marketed features that were not fully available at the time for users.

Unveiled during WWDC 2024, Apple Intelligence introduced AI-driven features including notification summaries, Genmoji, and an enhanced Siri experience. However, several of the announced Siri upgrades are still unavailable.

Reports indicate that Apple could introduce a new AI-powered Siri, possibly integrated with Google Gemini, at WWDC 2026 in June.

The settlement is still awaiting court approval. Once approved, a dedicated settlement website will be created where eligible users can find details and submit their claims.
