Beijing Could Guarantee a Possible Agreement Between Tehran and Washington: Iranian Ambassador

China could act as a guarantor for a potential agreement between Iran and the United States, the Iranian ambassador said while emphasizing the need for guarantees from major world powers. A proposal to discuss the agreement at the United Nations Security Council has also emerged, with China and Russia being described as key global powers.

Iran’s Ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, stated that any possible agreement between the United States and Iran could only be effective and trustworthy if backed by strong guarantees from major international powers. In this regard, he described China as an important guarantor and said that Beijing could play a key role in a potential understanding between Tehran and Washington.

The Iranian ambassador said that amid rising regional and global tensions, it was essential that any future agreement should not remain limited to a bilateral understanding alone, but should also receive international recognition. According to him, both China and Russia are major influential powers capable of helping maintain regional stability and diplomatic balance.

Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli stressed that past experiences with international agreements had shown that such deals do not remain sustainable without global guarantees.

According to the Iranian envoy, the possible agreement should also be discussed in detail at the United Nations Security Council so that the international community can become part of the process. He said that debate at the Security Council level would not only strengthen the legal and diplomatic status of the agreement but would also improve the prospects for lasting peace and stability in the region.

He further stated that Iran believes in resolving issues through diplomacy and negotiations; however, meaningful progress would require all parties to move forward with seriousness and mutual trust.
