Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry participated in a special interactive session with students and faculty members at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University in Islamabad, where detailed discussions were held on important national issues including national security, counterterrorism, and information warfare.
Upon the DG ISPR’s arrival at the university, he received a warm welcome from teachers, faculty members, and students. During the session, he highlighted the current national and regional situation, the growing influence of social media, and the challenges of hybrid warfare. He stated that the younger generation must remain cautious of fake news, negative propaganda, and misleading information.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said during his address that national security is not limited to the defense of borders alone, but that intellectual, informational, and digital fronts also pose serious challenges, which can only be addressed through national unity and responsible behavior. He urged students to verify the authenticity of any news or information through credible sources before sharing it on social media.
During the session, students asked various questions, which the DG ISPR answered in detail and with reasoning. According to participants, the session helped clear many misconceptions and provided valuable awareness regarding national security matters and the responsible use of social media.
On the occasion, participants described the success of “Marka-e-Haq” as important for Pakistan’s dignity and global image, while paying tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces. They also expressed their resolve that the nation and armed forces stand united for the country’s defense, stability, and security.
University Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan, in his address, said that the younger generation should play a positive and constructive role in ensuring Pakistan’s stability and security. He added that the role of educational institutions is not limited to education alone, but also includes fostering national awareness and responsibility.
At the conclusion of the event, students and teachers reaffirmed their commitment to complete solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces on matters of national security.
