A large gathering took place in Iran one week before the football team’s departure for the FIFA World Cup.
According to foreign media reports, the gathering was held at Revolution Square in Tehran, the capital of Iran, where thousands of people assembled, chanted slogans in support of the team, and offered prayers for their success.
Additionally, the football team also met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and presented the president with a jersey bearing the number 12.
On this occasion, Masoud Pezeshkian told the team to use their full energy on the field for the greatness of Iran. He stated that the Iranian nation prays for the team to take the field with full strength and return with honor.
He added that the team is expected to emerge as a symbol of Iran’s pride and unity, noting that the Iranian nation is proud of its hardworking sons.
Furthermore, the head of the Aerospace Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps also stated that the entire nation stands with the team at every step.
It should be remembered that the FIFA World Cup will be played in the United States, Canada, and Mexico next month. The Iranian football team will play its first match against New Zealand in Los Angeles, California, on June 15.
