The Punjab Education Department has announced summer vacations for all public and private schools across the province.
According to the official notification, summer holidays in educational institutions across Punjab will begin on May 22 and continue until August 23.
The Education Department stated that the decision was taken in view of the rising temperatures and to ensure the health and safety of students, teachers, and other staff members. Officials said that all academic activities in schools will remain completely suspended during the holidays.
The notification further stated that summer vacations in all schools across Punjab will continue for nearly three months. During this period, students will have the opportunity to rest as well as participate in extracurricular and educational activities.
It is worth mentioning that Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat had earlier said in a statement that a final decision regarding summer vacations was expected within the next few days.
According to the Education Department, school administrations have also been instructed to complete necessary administrative work and preparations for the upcoming academic session during the holidays.
Parents and students have welcomed the announcement of summer vacations, while educational circles stated that it had become difficult to continue academic activities due to the intense heat.
Education experts have advised students to continue their learning activities during the holidays and make positive use of their time.
